Charles W. “Buddy” Malone, 78, of Paris, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17th, at First Baptist Church in Deport with Rev. Jerry Smith & Anthonie Hagood officiating. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow in Milton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Buddy, the son of Frank Malone & Allie Mae Harris Malone, was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Paris.

Buddy, the son of Frank Malone & Allie Mae Harris Malone, was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Paris.

He graduated from East Lamar High School in 1957. Buddy served his country in the Army National Guard. His career as an insulator spanned many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Asbestos Workers Local Union #21.

Buddy was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Deport, a member of Deport Masonic Lodge #381 where he served in various capacities including District Deputy Grand Master. During this time he also earned his fifty year pin and the Golden Trowel Award. He was a long time member of Northeast Texas Travelers Car Club and was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his family, whom he loved very much. His wife, Sue Harvey Malone, whom he married on May 10, 1957, building fifty-nine years of family and memories, two sons, Tommy Malone & special family friend, Marsha Moore of Paris and Tony Malone & wife Debra of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren, Matthew Malone & wife Bethany of Mt. Pleasant and Micah Springston & husband Blaine of Belton, great grandchildren, Rylee Springston and Beau William Malone, one sister, Barbara McDowra of Paris, a brother-in-law, Charles Harvey & wife Scarlet of Pattonville along with numerous nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Matthew Malone, Blaine Springston, Tim Parks, Kyle Wright, Anthonie Hagood, Roger Allen, Donald Bob Merritt, Larry Gibbs and Duwayne Ham. Honorary bearers will be: Tom Bowman, John Newman, Don Ensey, Roy Stewart and Billy Johnson.
