Gweneth Nelle Gentry Terry, 85, of Paris, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Fleming & Rev. John David Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Terry, the daughter of Elbert Jay Gentry and Lola Heflin Gentry, was born Feb. 25, 1932, in Lamar County.

She graduated from East Delta High School in 1949, and then enrolled in Paris Business...

Mrs. Terry, the daughter of Elbert Jay Gentry and Lola Heflin Gentry, was born Feb. 25, 1932, in Lamar County.

She graduated from East Delta High School in 1949, and then enrolled in Paris Business College.

Nelle worked as a stenographer for a lawyer in Snyder, TX and then five and one half years at the Lamar Creamery in Paris.

She enjoyed gardening and fishing. She married Rev. Joe Ben Terry on Feb. 12, 1954, and worked alongside him in ministry for fifty-one years. During those years she worked tirelessly helping build and support churches by making peanut brittle and baked goods.

She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Her husband, Rev. Joe Ben Terry, her parents, Elbert Jay Gentry & Lola Heflin Gentry, and her brother, Sonny Gentry, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Ball of Hugo, OK, grandchildren; Maegan Acker, Misty Williams, Shane Acker, Shanna Ball and Nick Cochnauer, great grandchildren; Karson, Draven, Jacie, Maliyah and Kamilla, two sisters-in-law, Barbara Gentry and Rosemary Smith, four women whom she considered to be her daughters; Christie, Melinda, Barbara Smith and Sandra Hovetter along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Shane Acker, Carl Priddy, Chase Priddy, Nick Cochnauer, Kevin Terry, Jason Terry and Sam Stewart.
