Phyllis Jean Locke, 83, of Paris, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 22nd at the Open Air Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Ed Schaeffer officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Locke, the daughter of Dick & Cora Virginia “Jo” Parker Campbell, was born Dec. 1, 1933, in Paris.

Mrs. Locke, the daughter of Dick & Cora Virginia “Jo” Parker Campbell, was born Dec. 1, 1933, in Paris.

She graduated from Paris High School in 1951, and Paris Junior College. Phyllis was a class officer her senior year at Paris High School and was always active in class reunions.

She taught kindergarten in Garland for several years and worked a number of years at Sears in Paris. Her career at the J. C. Penny Corporate Offices in Plano spanned more than thirty years before her retirement.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris, the Red Hat Society, was a volunteer at Paris Regional Medical Center and a volunteer reader at elementary schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon D. Locke, on March 26, 2010, her father, Dick Campbell, her mother & step-father, Jo & Felix Cunningham, and a brother, Herbert Campbell.

Survivors include a daughter, Jan Blankenship & husband Johnny of Royse City, a grandson, Greg Strawn & wife Kelsey of Tyler, two great grandchildren, Brycen Strawn and Sealey Strawn, a sister, Carol Dollins & husband George of Paris, a brother, Richard Campbell of Paris along with several nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends.
