Zenobia Jo McWaters, 91, of Paris, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Heritage House of Paris.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. McWaters, the daughter of W. D. and Pauline Neal Ruth, was born Aug. 25, 1926, in the Forest Chapel Community of Lamar County. On April 20, 1943, she married Gene W. McWaters, Sr., building fifty-two years...

Mrs. McWaters, the daughter of W. D. and Pauline Neal Ruth, was born Aug. 25, 1926, in the Forest Chapel Community of Lamar County. On April 20, 1943, she married Gene W. McWaters, Sr., building fifty-two years of family and memories before his death on April 17, 1996. Her career in teaching spanned thirty years before her retirement with the last years of her career being at West Lamar. Following retirement she worked a number of years at Gene the Jeweler’s. Mrs. McWaters was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Gene McWaters, Jr. & wife Cindy of Paris, a daughter, JoAnn Spradling & husband Elvis of Sumner, grandchildren; LaDeanea McWaters, James Spradling & wife Karen, Gena Spradling, Mark Spradling & wife Kathie, Kristie Atwood & husband Darrell and Tricia Cain & husband Jim, great grandchildren; Morgan Spradling, Kaitlynn Spradling, Mallory Spradling, Chaynee Atwood, and Garrett Cain, three sisters; Sally Smith, Shirley Adams and Paula Cantrell all of Paris along with a number of nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
